iPhone 17
Last year, the iPhone 16 was one of the most compelling base models yet. iPhone 17 may not have as packed a list of new features as what’s coming to other models, but it appears ready to continue that trend nonetheless.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
Apple’s Pro models will continue being the best possible all-around iPhones this year. iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will come in the same 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes as last year, but a lot of other features are changing.
- New design: Full-width camera bar expands typical bump, and aluminum replaces titanium.
- A19 Pro chip: The most powerful new iPhone chip with no compromises.
- 24MP front-facing TrueDepth camera: The first selfie camera upgrade in years.
- 48MP upgraded Telephoto camera: Up from 12MP, making all three rear cameras now 48MP.
- Larger battery on Pro Max only: The king in battery life will extend its lead.
- 12GB RAM: 50% increase over prior models’ 8GB.
- Anti-reflective, more scratch resistant display: New upgrades to account for loss of ProMotion exclusivity.
- More colorful colors: Orange and Dark Blue will join Silver and Black.
- $1,049 and $1,249 prices expected: $50 price increases over last year.

The iPhone 17 lineup, thanks largely to the addition of the 17 Air, might make it harder than usual to choose the best model for you. Those considering the base iPhone 17 will get the benefit of ProMotion for the first time ever. iPhone 17 Air will feel the most futuristic, but also come with some compromises. And while iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max sound as strong as ever, they don’t have the same “brand new” appeal that the Air might.
